Yes to Freedom is an organisation that promotes absolute freedom of
expression. However, it is a great misunderstanding of the concept of
"free speech" to believe that it implies the right of everyone to say
whatever he/she wants regardless of the time, place and context.
The contents of Yes to Freedom's website, as well as all creative works
created by the organisation, are not part of the public domain. All
contents, whether written or otherwise, posted on http://www.yestofreedom.org, http://yestofreedom.org and their
respective subdomains is either posted under a fair use policy if said
content is copyrighted - please refrain from posting copyrighted
material unless no other option is available - or is to be considered
part of the website as a whole and is therefore licensed under the Yes
to Freedom licence:
Also note that
the main website
uses
WordPress while
the wiki
uses
MediaWiki and
the forums are rather
loosely based on
PunBB. These
pieces of software are released under the
GNU General Public License,
are therefore so are all modifications made to the code by the members of
Yes to Freedom.
Yes to Freedom's website itself is to be considered a private space
that belongs to the various entities that compose it. As such, some
rules of conduct do apply. These rules will be enforced thoroughly.
- Posting of sexually explicit material is prohibited. Linking to
such material is tolerated provided that it is properly tagged as such,
preferably with the use of
red text.
- Relevance to the topic at hand is primordial, unless irrelevancy
is inherent to said topic. Posting a few words such as "I agree", "OK"
or "lol" as reply to a thread is considered irrelevancy regardless of the topic.
- Recurring logical fallacies in one's arguments will most likely
lead to a ban as he/she does not constitute an asset to our community.
Other potentially objectionable conduct will be dealt with on a
case-by-case basis.
